The Tourist... bad critic reviews that I totally disagree with!

This past weekend, I had the fortunate surprise of being taken to see The Tourist. Dispite the reviews I've seen from major film critics, I have to disagree. I thought the film was actually quite good. It was full of action, drama, excitement- everything it promoted!

The movie starts off with a famous criminal's girlfriend (Jolie) who is being tailed by Interpol. She mysteriously gets a letter from her con boyfriend telling her to get on a train to Venice and find a guy to make Interpol believe "the tourist" is her actual boyfriend to throw them off his tail.

From that point forward Depp and Jolie are thrown through numerous obstacles, and try to survive the Venetion police and an angry mob boss.

All in all, I really like the movie. I didn't love it, but it was still good. So if you are looking for a good action move with the beautiful Angelina Jolie and the brute Johnny Depp, then you'll like this movie too!

Transformers - Dark Side of the Moon Trailer

Here is a movie I'm highly anticipating! Not much I'm going to write here... but I'm very excited!

My "LEAST" favorite week of the year.

This is a blog about my favorite things, right?... well this post is just the opposite. It's a synapse of the least favorite year of my life (just this past week). Read it and weep- not really. I understand that my problems seem very minuscule to other people's problems, but all comparisons aside and just viewing this a "Me" and my life- these issues are pretty big.

Just a little warning. This is a personal message- not any review about entertainment or media. It's what I like to call an "Official Emo-Blogger's Post"...

This week has officially gone from bad to worse to horrible; all in just seven days. I returned from Thanksgiving break only to find that my house had been broken into and all of my expensive items had been stolen… which are replaceable. However, the hunting knife my Grandfather gave me before he passed away is irreplaceable. I quickly got over the robbery when I realized that everything that had been stolen is covered under our insurance. Even though that is the case, it still majorly bothers me that my house, my room had been violated by someone who was not welcome there. The feeling is strange. I know that I’m financially insured, but it upsets me further that there are people out there who feel the need to just help themselves to whatever they like. Obviously these “people” are dangerous. If they can break into someone’s home, forget all morals and laws and not worry about the repercussions, then what else are they capable of doing? This was my first upset of the week.

On the following Saturday, sibling rivalry arose between my brother and I. After a heated argument, my brother decided that he should vandalize my car- that that would put everything into perspective for me so I could see things on his level. Obviously this just pissed me off even further. Again, this is another thing that I have to worry about this week. What I should be worrying about are finals next week. This year has been especially hard for me with academics. I’ve had trouble before, but that was justified by lack of studying and not attending class. This year, however, has been much different. I attended class regularly, studied greatly for tests, spent numerous hours a week on homework, and fretted over material I couldn’t understand. I turned to Google for most of my help because my teachers weren’t depicting it when it came to teaching. All in all, when it comes down to the last week of classes, I’ve ended up with an F, D, 2 Cs and a B. These grades definitely don’t constitute a “fail-out”, however they don’t meet the minimum GPA requirement of the University which results in myself being put on Academic Probation.

Unfortunately this will be my second time on probation. It’s horrible, and I know that- which is why I’m on the brink of an academic breakdown. What did I do wrong this time? Not spend enough time on homework? Well I’ve spent at most 8 hours on one assignment alone. Not enough studying? I start at least 3 days ahead of test time and spend many hours a day studying. I don’t know. It’s gotten me down pretty far. Next semester will definitely be different because I’ll be starting on a major I really enjoy. But for now, the sad thing is that I’m not scared about screwing up some grades. What I am scared about is what my parents will do. It’s sad when all you think about is pleasing your parents- which is definitely not how it should be. But when I’m threatened to fund my own college if I can’t get good enough grades, it adds extra pressure on me, which often results in worse grades. The last time I was on academic probation, I had to dive into my personal savings and pay for tuition myself. No loans, not anything to help. Now, that’s what I’m facing again.

As for the horrible end to my week of hell; I just learned last night that my Great-Great Grandmother passed away- funeral pending this weekend, the weekend before finals. So will I be able to focus enough to get the grades I need on my finals? We will see. All I would like is understanding- that I am trying as hard as I can. This is life, not high school. I may have seemed like a prodigal twin 4 years ago, but now I’m my own person- not to be compared to my family of "geniuses" (how they portray themselves to be).

So what do I need to fix all of this? I need Christmas break to start now!

Tumblr, why didn't I find you earlier?

My friend, Hannah, recently told me about Tumblr.(By the way, Hannah is my source to everything... Movies, music, cool websites, tv shows, and now, Tumblr). Knowing that I like to blog about media and just fun things, she told me that I should create a Tumblr. For those of you who are unaware of what "Tumblr" actually is, it's a blogging site that you go to just for small posts. For example, if you found a neat picture on the web somewhere and wanted to share it without writing about it, Tumblr would be the place to post it. This is my alternative to Blogger. I love to blog, however I can post so much more on Tumblr. So be sure to check out both of my Tumblr pages... you can find the links to the left of this blog.

"Tumblr 1" is just a site where I post completely random, unrelated things that I find neat and amusing.

"Tumblr 2" is another site where I post random things, however, this one is different because I actually create the things I post. I may not necessarily take the photos, but I am the one who is creating the different photo compositions.

I really do hope you check it out... and follow me there if you wish! If you have one, message me your Tumblr link- I would love to follow you too!

God save the Queen… and Her shows!

Recently, I have became obsessed with foreign television… well, not that foreign I guess. I have submersed myself into British television shows, and to be honest, I love every show I've seen so far.

It all started with the miniseries "Sherlock". The show stars  Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as his handy sidekick Watson. I love a good mystery show, so when my friend Hannah told me about it I assumed it was based in the 1800's, as it usually would. However, to my surprise, this show is in a modern setting, which, in my opinion, makes the show great. There are only 3 episodes so far, and fortunately there is another season in production right now which will air late next year. Here is a trailer if you are interested in looking it up:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSQq_bC5kIw

The second show of my British binge is Doctor Who. This is probably the most popular show out of all of them I seen so far. I don't know much about the series as a whole, but this is what I do know. There are over 20 seasons so far, and out of all of the British television shows, this one has a huge following in America as well. I started with the latest season, which is still going on, and there hasn't been an episode that's let me down yet! So here is a trailer as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpbmMhNe6aA

The third show I have been watching, and am currently catching up on: Being Human. Over Halloween I saw previews on Syfy that there was a show [Being Human] that was about to air. Curious as I was, I looked it up online and discovered that the Syfy series was an Americanized version and is based off of the ongoing 'Being Human' in Britain. From there I started watching the British version, and to say the least, it is amazing. If you are a Twilight fanatic, then you'll also love this show. It's about a (good) vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost living in a house together and going through everyday problems together. There are also "bigger" problems the three must go through- which you should watch to find out.  Even if you don't like Twilight, you will like this show. I definitely recommend looking up this show. I have a horrible feeling that the Syfy version will be a huge bust, but as far as this one, you won't be disappointed.  Here is a trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifgNBT_0hSs

The fourth and final British tv series I've been watching is the creepy and dark "Misfits". It's about a group of juvenile delinquents who are stuck doing community service. Before they know it, the group is amidst a freak storm in which the get struck by lightening. Following the strike, the kids start to develop strange abilities. Some which they use for good, others- bad. If you are interested in a show with extremely dark humor, and very awkward scenes… but still a very excellent show, then look up "Misfits". Misfits is one of those shows in which you have to be in the mood to watch, but it's very amusing either way. Out of all of the four British shows I've watched recently, this is the one that I am watching minutes after it's aired overseas. Here is a link to the trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODl-kAhVsXY

So if you are tired of watching the same "family friendly" shows… or shows that seem like they are the same thing every week, just look up these four shows. So much happens in one season (which is about 8 episodes at most) it always seems like it's been longer. Have fun! Enjoy! Blog later.

Great Music To Study To

Because I'm in college and finals are next week, this podcast is a compilation of my most-played music in my study playlist. So I hope you enjoy the music I chose to play and good luck on your finals. If you don't have any finals to look forward to, and yes I'm being sarcastic, then you're lucky and I have nothing to say to you. Blog later.

Harry Potter: almost done... unfortunately

Finally, I have seen Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, and to sum it all up: it was great! The movie actually followed the book quite closely- minus a few details such as disguising Harry at the Weasley wedding… and introducing Dobby a little early.  The special effects were amazing as well.

The film starts at Privet Dr. where Harry must travel to the Weasleys. However, since he is still underage, he must do it under the protection of the Order. From the first minute of the film, the pace hastens quicker and quicker.  There is no slow parts of the film. From George (or Fred- I can never remember) getting his ear blown off to Hedwig dying, you'll be on the edge of your seats. And as Voldemort blows open Dumbledore's grave only to steal the Elder Wand, the movie ends. A huge cliffhanger, but at least you know the end is coming.

This movie had a little bit more magic… but a lot less Hogwarts. If you have read the book, then you realize that the majority of the book is the trio looking for Voldemort's horcruxes (outside of Hogwarts).

So, if you haven't seen it: GO SEE IT. You will not be disappointed.

"Magic Is Might"

Today, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 hit theaters. Unfortunately, I haven't gone to see it yet, but I plan to very soon. On this podcast, everything is about Harry Potter: The video game, the movies, the books. It's only about 12 minutes long, so hope you enjoy.

Below are links to all the Harry Potter movies so you can get caught up before going to see the new movie.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I Solemnly Swear I'm Up To No Good.

This week, the penultimate  Harry Potter franchise continues with it's 7th movie installment.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has already been hyped beyond belief. Over 3 different teaser trailers have been released, each showing more and more of the storyline- but carefully not spoiling any plot that may differ from the book.  Everyone who's read the Harry Potter novels know how the story ends, but I'm anxious to find out the point in which Part 1 ends and Part 2 of 'Deathly Hallows' begins.

If you don't remember what happened in the previous movie [Half-Blood Prince] I have posted a link so you can watch the movie online.  Anyways, with the death of Dumbledore, Harry decided that returning to Hogwarts was not an option, and that his destiny to destroy "You-know-who" must be put into action.

I've just recently completed re-reading the last book, and once again, J.K. Rowling energized my passion and love for the series. I just hope the movie follows the book very closely. Any detail that they omit from the film would drastically take away from the audiences' experience. Furthermore, shall they show the flash forward of the main characters Ron, Hermione, and Harry, I wonder if they will do so in the same manner as the book. Fifteen years, if I'm correct, is quite a long jump, and if they jump that far ahead, will they use Emma, Rupert, and Daniel still? Just a wonderment to think about.

Anyways, my podcast is strictly going to cover Harry Potter though the years, so tune in tomorrow for that. Otherwise, look through the changing banner on the home page to see some features for Harry Potter [The 6th Movie, Mugglenet, The Official Website, etc].

Also, because of the Thanksgiving holiday, I'll be putting my computer down for the week, so there will be no blog post from me, unless I decide to "attempt" to post one from my phone. Other than that, you can correctly assume that my next post will be a review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1

"It's the beginning of the end"… Until then.

Recap of shows & more good music!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned all of the shows I liked to watch. Now, I'm here to talk about them, and to discuss an old flame of mine: 'Roswell'.

I've also included music, from one of the best shows, Chuck, at the end of the podcast.  These songs include:

1) Got Nuffin - Spoon
2) Wait It Out - Imogen Heap
3) Blue Beard - Band of Horses
4) Down River - The Temper Trap
5) Blood Bank - Bon Iver

Also, I didn't mention it in the podcast, but the 'Chuck' music I chose was also part of an effort from my friend Hannah (http://www.mhslt.blogspot.com). It is essentially a preview to a later podcast that will cover nothing but music that is perfect for studying... because it's that time of year again. Hope you enjoy!

Blast from the not-so-far past!

I've cooped myself up in my room (besides attending classes) and have done absolutely nothing except watch a great old show. Of course, my "old" and your "old" may not be parallel, however this show is, in my perspective, old. I did not watch it when it aired, however, a year ago a friend of mine told me she heard about it and thought I should look it up. I've seen each episode at least 10 times, literally.

The show is Roswell. And yes, it's a short-lived "paranormal" show, but I love it. It's about a girl, Liz. She works in a diner her family owns in Roswell, and on a normal day, gets shot by an angry customer. Not a good thing, however to her fortunate surprise, a local crush walks up to her as she's lying on the floor and bleeding profusely, and heals her.  Max Evans healed her… and Max Evans is an alien.

There are 3 aliens in Roswell, NM, and they attend high school just like every other teenager. They have no idea where they came from or how they got there, but they've been raised by adoptive parents had been given a normal home. They only difference between the three and other kids is that they can heal, and change structures of normal objects. No one knows who they are except Liz and a friend of hers. It's deep, and it's amazing.

Yes, yes, I'm not really into "aliens"… it's more or less, stupid when you involve extra-terrestrials , however the focus of the whole story isn't about how they're different from humans, but how they're alike; they go through real-life drama- who they are, who to trust, and who to love.

The show only aired for 3 years starting in 1999. The main characters are Max Evans played by Jason Behr. Isabelle Evans who is played by Katherine Heigl, which is funny because her career took off because of her performance as "Isabelle" Stevens in Grey's Anatomy. Michael Guerin who is played by Brendan Fehr. Liz Parker who is played by Shiri Appleby, and Maria DeLuca, played by Majandra Delfino.

The cast is great, the plot-lines are great. Everything about this show is great with the exception that it only lasted 3 years. I absolutely recommend this show to anyone. Go buy it! Find it on Hulu or something!

Here is the first episode. Luckily I was able to find it online somewhere.

The Mix-tape of My Week

The past couple of weeks have contained some huge music releases... Jason Aldean, Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift, and P!nk, just to name a few... so what new songs have I been listening to?.. better yet, what type of music do I even listen to? Well, on this week's podcast, I include some of my new favorite music.

On the podcast I explained that it was a short post. However, 25 minutes into it, I realized I had more music I love than I realized... and that's just from the past 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy my "Mix-tape" this week. Till next week (With the next podcast post)... More blogging before then!

Have A Happy Halloween!

Okay, so this is my first official podcast! What do I think about the "Halloween" movies? What is some good music I've been listening to? What movies have I seen lately that I like? And what horror movies do I love to watch around this time of year? Well, tune in to my podcast for all of this and more!

Here's how: Open iTunes. Go to the advanced tab. Click "subscribe to podcast". Then just copy and paste this link http://infinite-favorites.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default and you will be able to listen to my podcasts as I post them! Enjoy!

It's definitely a Thriller...

Michael Jackson's Thriller
features one of the most commonly known dances in the world... and it's just so fitting for this time of year! So here's a post to my favorite "spooky" song and one of my favorite performers of all time. With with a short post today, here is the whole Thriller video. RIP MJ.

And the Academy goes to...

Yesterday, I posted a list of movies I love to watch around Halloween. That list probably only containes less than 1% of the horror movies that I've actually seen, and to me, the most important part of a horror movie is the acting. You can have a "Scary-As-Shit" movie, but have it ruined by horrible acting. Unless it seems real, I'll get bored with the movie very easily.

I've kept up with the newest season of Scream Queens on VH1. It's ended for the season, but I loved the concept. So, to keep this post fairly short, Here is the top 2 movies with the greatest acting, in my opinion, and I'm going to give my cheers my favorite "Scream Queen"- I mean, you never see horror films / actors get nominated at the Academy Awards, so I'm going to recognize them here:

Paranormal Activity seemed completely real to me. Both of the actors were down to earth, real. This movie is definitely at the top of my list of good actors.

And the top it off...

When I watched Quarantine in the theater with my folks, I thought to myself, this lady is the greatest actress I've ever seen. I really don't even like the movie that much, but she blew me away. Jennifer Carpenter is the actress, and it amazed me how she could scream her head off, act horrified and all shaken up, and still make her performance believable. She is my nomination. To me, she is THE Scream Queen. You may also know her as Emily Rose, from her performance from The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

What I recommend watching this week.

Because it's Halloween, and Halloween happens to be my "favorite" holiday, I'm going to post something every other day or so that pertains to Halloween / Horror. On Friday, my first podcast will be updated, so you'll be able to download that- instructions will be posted later for those who don't know how to subscribe.

Anyway, since I consider Sunday to be the first day of the week, unlike the rest of my friends, I'm going to post my favorite movies I love to watch during this time of year. This will be a short post- just basically a list of movies you should watch this week... Actually, this will be more like a schedule of movies I'm going to watch this week... oh well, it's all the same to me.

Day 1, Sunday 10/24
I find it best to start with a true Halloween movie. So Halloween, the original, is going to be my choice of movie this week.

Day 2, Monday 10/25
I will pop in the newest Friday the 13th. I don't want to watch all the good ones at first... this one is just a fun watch to me.

Day 3, Tuesday 10/26
The Ring 1 and/or 2 will most likely be my choice of movies to watch this day.

Day 4, Wednesday 10/27
There's this movie, Trick 'R Treat that I bought a while back.. still haven't watched it, but Wednesday sounds like a good day to do just that.

Day 5, Thursday 10/28
Well, today I have a whole day off practically. Only one class, so I'll be able to watch a few movies.  My choices? Scream 1, 2, & 3. Enough said.

Day 6, Friday 10/29
The family is coming in Friday to celebrate Halloween... So I'll probably be watching what they want to: Sleepy Hollow. This is one of my all time favorite "Halloween Themed" movies. It's creepy, scary, and the cast is great.

Day 7, 10/30
My family and I are going to be carving pumpkins on this day... So to keep with our traditions, we are most likely going to be watching Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, and Halloween: H20.

Day 8, Halloween
I always have the worst times picking out the right movies to watch on Halloween... Nevertheless, no matter how much I fret about it, I always choose the same damn movies every year: Halloween, the original, Halloween 2, 4, 5 and Resurrection, and I'll end the night with the scariest of all, The Exorcist. You may be thinking how I can fit all of these movies into one day? Well I just put them in and let them play from when I get up to when I go to sleep.. I just let the roll even when I'm not actually watching them.

Just a little video for your entertainment.

Well, Paranormal Activity 2 was awesome! ... If only I didn't shit myself.

It definitely lived up to my expectations.

On October 8, 2006, Katie and Micah’s paranormal activities climaxed when Katie mysteriously becomes possessed and ultimately murders Micah and…

That’s right. What happens after the incident that night? Where does Katie go? And why is this all happening anyway? The new sequel has all, scratch that, most of the answers.  I’ll try not to spoil anything for anyone; however, with as secretive the previews have been with the storyline, I may have already. Anyways, you could say this movie is a prequel to the first. Shit! Was that another spoiler? The ‘activity’ actually starts with this family from PA2, which happens to be close relatives to the original Katie. So throughout the film, we see cameos of Micah and Katie, taking into account this is happening a good three months before the activity in their home. Without getting into any more detail, the suspense that captivated many people in the first movie is just as intense in this movie.

Nonetheless, the movie may seem a bit boring in the beginning. The object this movie lacked that the other had is simply the great transitioning from one act of ‘activity’ to another. PA2 starts out extremely slow. Instead of building up the acts of paranormal events, it seems to be minimal, be minimal, be minimal, and then BAM, BAM, BAM; if that made any sense at all. The first film seemed to transition every event as if they got more intense every time. This one was either huge at first, small the next… or just small events throughout, then all of the huge events in the end. Either way, this new movie was scary as hell. I went and saw the midnight showing, with an 8:30 class the next morning… Even though I may be as tired as hell right now, I have no regrets. It was exactly what I was waiting for.

A new look on the franchise made this film even scarier than the first, and this is how: first, there’s a dog. I mean, we all know dogs and sense things we cannot, which really increase the scare factor. Second, the plot surrounds a family, not just a couple. Third, the house is huge and includes security cameras in EVERY room. So, instead of only seeing things with a guy carrying a camera or just through a tripod set up in a bedroom, or hearing something in a room and having to watch Micah run into another room so we can see the after affect, we get to see everything first-hand. And lastly, the factor I believe makes the movie the scariest, is the baby! Yes, we’ve all heard that innocent little children and see things adults can’t, and this movie plays with that idea. And it doesn’t help that the child can’t fight for himself… especially when he’s getting dragged out of his crib…

So if you want to be scared shitless. Go see this movie! It’s definitely the best horror film of this year. And I believe that the two Paranormal Activities are definitely the greatest horror films of all time. What you don’t see is what’s the scariest to me. And take my advice, don’t go see this movie during the day… it takes away from the after-affect. Go see it at night, so when you go home, you can imagine a demon coming for you with every sound you hear.

Podcast 0 - So It All Begins

So I'm starting a podcast. Hopefully people will find it entertaining and fun. Either way, it gives me something to do in my spare time. My first full-length podcast will be released on October 29, 2010 - just in time for Halloween!

"Easy A" Is Simply... An Easy 'A'.

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of seeing ‘Easy A’. And when I say “pleasure”, it was exactly that. Emma Stone captivated me when she played the ultimate geeky sorority girl in The House Bunny. Then she had another break role as a badass woman in Zombieland; now, an outstanding role in Easy A. To tell you the truth, she’s going to be huge if she keeps choosing these great roles (as she has already been doing).

Easy A is about a student [Stone] who is just an ordinary, somewhat boring girl in her high school. Until she pretends to sleep with a guy as a favor, she is unnoticed. Word starts spreading on how Stone helped the guy out, so other pathetic-type guys start lining up to Stone with hopes that she’ll, at least, lie about having slept with them. Once rumors start spreading about her “indecency”, as Amanda Bynes categorizes Stone’s behavior in the film, the whole school starts to backlash and attack Emma. So in the end, Stone has to make the ultimate decision: Tell everyone that she’s been lying about sleeping around, or let the past be the past and just move on from there.

This story is a typical 80’s type movie, brought to the future in today’s 21st Century cinema. The movie really touches the idea of Stone’s situation being a typical “John Hughes” storyline, which perhaps may be true. All in all though, this movie was greatly entertaining. Lisa Kudrow was featured in the movie, and what can go wrong when our ‘Phoebe’ is in the picture?… well a lot of things, especially if she plays a troublesome social worker, as she does in Easy A.

The cast is great and the humor is astonishing. The A-List cast really takes this movie to the next level. Maybe it’s because I find myself in a younger demographic, but I loved this movie. A friend, my brother, and I all went and saw it together, and we found ourselves laughing so hard we started to cry. So I genuinely recommend seeing this movie if you haven’t already.

This movie could have easily been named based off of the ratings of all of the factors that bring the film together. It is simply an ‘Easy A’.

Can't get enough of 'The Good Wife'!

It's been two weeks since I've mentioned anything about television. This is what has happened since the week of premiers: Another one of my shows I love to watch, The Good Wife, has started up for season two, and the show I fell in love with, Lone Star, won't have a season two. Actually it wont even have an episode three. Yes, in a previous post, I explained how Fox was contemplating taking the show off the air because of it's poor ratings for its premier. Well, after viewer-ship went down even further for the second episode, they immediately took it off the air and replaced it with the new season of Lie To Me. I'm quite disappointed. The show had major potential and an awesome storyline. I'm just sad that the show wasn't allowed, at least, a quick finish; instead of a huge cliffhanger. I guess that leaves the rest to the imagination.

Nevertheless, I'm now distracted from that mishap, and literally obsessed with another show. The Good Wife has resumed for Season 2. The first episode [2 weeks ago] started with an exciting case dealing with a man she deemed guilty. She had to make the ultimate decision and choose whether or not to defend the man.

While dealing with the almost impossible case, Alicia Florick had to choose to leave her husband  for a long-time crush, or stay with her cheating husband. Ultimately she has no choice in the matter and decides to move on with her life.

Her cases this season seem to be more gutsy while she attempts to, more or less, confront the judges on their mistakes. Her rivalry with her former associate, Cary, has started to heat up as well this season. The second episode [last week] began with a case winner for Alicia, which then took a startling twist into Military Court. Being unfamiliar with the different codes and laws intertwining in the system, the "Good Wife" has to battle her way with a particularly biased judge and jury. This show has drama, it has family, it has action, it has a good-looking cast, and the "law and order" aspect of the show collectively makes this a great edition to my Tuesday nights. Actually, that seems to be one of the only shows I'm looking forward to, because with The Good Wife, you never know what is going to happen. Ultimately, this television show is recommended to anyone looking for a new guilty pleasure. It won't let you down.

You might be a favorite if... I play your album 50 times in a week!

I have listened to so much music this past week. It's the time for the first wave of tests during this semester of classes, so when I'm studying, I start up iTunes and listen to music- nonstop. The music I listen to varies so much from genre to genre. I like it all- mostly. Sometimes I'm in the mood for hip/hop and rap, but hardly. I love country, rock, pop, classical, alternative, and everything in between. Right now, my iPod just went through a Miley Cyrus song onto Adam Lambert. Yes, I'm not afraid to admit that I have a few songs from Miley. It's good studying music; easy and definitely not deep (no puns here).  And as controversial as Adam has been, I'm not afraid to say I love his music also.

Let's just skip through the next few songs and see what I have next: "Animals" by Neon Trees, "I Wont" by Colbie Callait, "The Incredible Machine" by Sugarland, and "Resistance" by Muse... all songs I love. But out of all the music I've been listening to, there's a guy whose album I've looped over and over for a full week straight.

David Gray. I have yet to skip a song of his. He's a singer/songwriter who caught my eye on iTunes. I downloaded his latest album, Foundling, and was amazed. He's got upbeat happy music. And he's got slow thoughtful music. Everything that I like in an album. Because I was so impressed with this album, I thought I'd share my joy of it on my blog. I mean, it's a blog for my "favorite" things in life. And if you don't constitute a 50 play count on every song in this album for one week a favorite, then I'm not sure how much I'll need to listen to it. So ultimately if I were to rate this artist and his music 1 out of 10. I would say David gets a solid 8.

Spies, cougars, and anthropologists...

September is my favorite month... when it comes to television at least. Last week, my life got a little bit fuller [is this even a word?] when I realized that all my favorite television shows were going to start. My DVR was working up a storm it seemed. At around 7 o’clock each night, the sucker would turn on and wouldn’t turn off till 10.  This meant that my life on the internet and my studies would fully subside during these three hours each night practically.  So below, I’m going to list the shows I watch each night. Then, out of the many, I will choose my favorite show for each night. Ultimately during the end of this post, I will choose my all-time favorite show of the week, or of all for the matter. Then in the weeks to come, I’ll choose just one favorite show a week based off of the actual storyline, or episode, of that week. So here goes:

Mondays
Chuck vs. House vs. Lone Star vs. The Event
Winner:  Chuck!

Tuesdays
Glee vs. NCIS vs. One Tree Hill
Winner: NCIS!

Wednesdays
Cougartown vs. Ghost Hunters
Winner: Cougartown!

Thursdays
Grey’s Anatomy vs. Bones vs. Private Practice
Winner: Bones!

Fridays
Supernatural vs. Smallville
Winner: Supernatural!

So, what happens to be my favorite show of the whole week? It doesn’t take me any time to come up with an answer. Naturally it’s Bones. I’ll never miss an episode of this show. Every week is exciting and captivating.

On a tangent, a new show, Lone Star, really caught my attention this week. It was actually quite good. It’s about a con man who’s living two lives (2 jobs, 2 wives, and stealing money). I can’t recall any other show with these principles. I’m mentioning this show because after one episode, FOX is contemplating canceling it. The truth is that I really like this show and I wish that the companies would give television shows a chance before pulling the plug.

Resident Evil: Afterlife... is... brilliant!

I love watching movies. It’s my favorite pastime. So out of ALL of the movies I’ve watched- which is my favorite? This is one answer I’ll never be able to give. There are movies that I can fully recite from memory, Twister, being one of them.  But I’m not sure if that’s my favorite. I don’t know what my ultimate favorite is, but I do know what my favorite movie I’ve seen this past week. I figure that I watch so much television that I can post a weekly favorite movie [or show, whichever I feel like posting]. I recently went and saw Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D, and I have to say, after being sucked into the franchise when the first movie came out, this one is by far my favorite of the foursome. It is by far the most entertaining movie I’ve seen for a while now… compared to the last disappointing movie I saw in theaters [Eat. Pray. Love.]. I easily get in the mood for an end-of-days movie, and my recent view of The Book of Eli didn’t quite curve my craving. Resident Evil: Afterlife, however, did just that. Milla Jovovich is one of my favorite actresses. She can do it all. From her action movies to serious thrillers. From The Fifth Element to The Fourth Kind and The Perfect Getaway she always captivates me.

In this flick, Jovovich returns as Alice, who was manufactured by the Umbrella Corporation to be the greatest military asset. The story resumes from the previous movie Extinction with returning casts like Ali Larter. After unexpectedly finding survivors atop a building in the destroyed L.A. metropolis, she attempts to rescue the people to a ship in which the team has been receiving safety broadcasts from. The story is simple. The movie is great. And the 3D affects are amazing. One spoiler though, the movie does have a cliffhanger. So I can only hope that they continue with another. According to Associated Press, this 4th installment has grossed more than the other three movies combined, so hopefully that will bring light to a fifth movie. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

BioShock for PS3

I just returned to college. All of my friends seem to be so busy with their extra curriculars- I needed something to do... something that would be interactive and time consuming. So, with that in mind, I went to my stack of PS3 games that I hadn't touched for a while and I picked out a game my brother gave me for Christmas. It was called BioShock and I hadn't even opened it since it was given to me. It didn't seem like something I would like... I love Guitar Hero and even Modern Warfare 2... but BioShock? Well don't let the creepy robot and creepy girl on the cover of this game fool you, this game is one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. Very innovative and thrilling! So to my surprise, I can sit down with this game, and 4 hours later still be tentatively into it. Do I recommend this to everyone? YES. Will it scare you at some points? YES. Is it hard? SOMETIMES. Is it my favorite video game right now? YES. Will I buy BioShock 2? ABSOLUTELY.
