"Magic Is Might"

Today, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 1 hit theaters. Unfortunately, I haven't gone to see it yet, but I plan to very soon. On this podcast, everything is about Harry Potter: The video game, the movies, the books. It's only about 12 minutes long, so hope you enjoy.

Below are links to all the Harry Potter movies so you can get caught up before going to see the new movie.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

I Solemnly Swear I'm Up To No Good.

This week, the penultimate  Harry Potter franchise continues with it's 7th movie installment.  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 has already been hyped beyond belief. Over 3 different teaser trailers have been released, each showing more and more of the storyline- but carefully not spoiling any plot that may differ from the book.  Everyone who's read the Harry Potter novels know how the story ends, but I'm anxious to find out the point in which Part 1 ends and Part 2 of 'Deathly Hallows' begins.

If you don't remember what happened in the previous movie [Half-Blood Prince] I have posted a link so you can watch the movie online.  Anyways, with the death of Dumbledore, Harry decided that returning to Hogwarts was not an option, and that his destiny to destroy "You-know-who" must be put into action.

I've just recently completed re-reading the last book, and once again, J.K. Rowling energized my passion and love for the series. I just hope the movie follows the book very closely. Any detail that they omit from the film would drastically take away from the audiences' experience. Furthermore, shall they show the flash forward of the main characters Ron, Hermione, and Harry, I wonder if they will do so in the same manner as the book. Fifteen years, if I'm correct, is quite a long jump, and if they jump that far ahead, will they use Emma, Rupert, and Daniel still? Just a wonderment to think about.

Anyways, my podcast is strictly going to cover Harry Potter though the years, so tune in tomorrow for that. Otherwise, look through the changing banner on the home page to see some features for Harry Potter [The 6th Movie, Mugglenet, The Official Website, etc].

Also, because of the Thanksgiving holiday, I'll be putting my computer down for the week, so there will be no blog post from me, unless I decide to "attempt" to post one from my phone. Other than that, you can correctly assume that my next post will be a review of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1

"It's the beginning of the end"… Until then.

Recap of shows & more good music!

A few weeks ago, I mentioned all of the shows I liked to watch. Now, I'm here to talk about them, and to discuss an old flame of mine: 'Roswell'.

I've also included music, from one of the best shows, Chuck, at the end of the podcast.  These songs include:

1) Got Nuffin - Spoon
2) Wait It Out - Imogen Heap
3) Blue Beard - Band of Horses
4) Down River - The Temper Trap
5) Blood Bank - Bon Iver

Also, I didn't mention it in the podcast, but the 'Chuck' music I chose was also part of an effort from my friend Hannah (http://www.mhslt.blogspot.com). It is essentially a preview to a later podcast that will cover nothing but music that is perfect for studying... because it's that time of year again. Hope you enjoy!

Blast from the not-so-far past!

I've cooped myself up in my room (besides attending classes) and have done absolutely nothing except watch a great old show. Of course, my "old" and your "old" may not be parallel, however this show is, in my perspective, old. I did not watch it when it aired, however, a year ago a friend of mine told me she heard about it and thought I should look it up. I've seen each episode at least 10 times, literally.

The show is Roswell. And yes, it's a short-lived "paranormal" show, but I love it. It's about a girl, Liz. She works in a diner her family owns in Roswell, and on a normal day, gets shot by an angry customer. Not a good thing, however to her fortunate surprise, a local crush walks up to her as she's lying on the floor and bleeding profusely, and heals her.  Max Evans healed her… and Max Evans is an alien.

There are 3 aliens in Roswell, NM, and they attend high school just like every other teenager. They have no idea where they came from or how they got there, but they've been raised by adoptive parents had been given a normal home. They only difference between the three and other kids is that they can heal, and change structures of normal objects. No one knows who they are except Liz and a friend of hers. It's deep, and it's amazing.

Yes, yes, I'm not really into "aliens"… it's more or less, stupid when you involve extra-terrestrials , however the focus of the whole story isn't about how they're different from humans, but how they're alike; they go through real-life drama- who they are, who to trust, and who to love.

The show only aired for 3 years starting in 1999. The main characters are Max Evans played by Jason Behr. Isabelle Evans who is played by Katherine Heigl, which is funny because her career took off because of her performance as "Isabelle" Stevens in Grey's Anatomy. Michael Guerin who is played by Brendan Fehr. Liz Parker who is played by Shiri Appleby, and Maria DeLuca, played by Majandra Delfino.

The cast is great, the plot-lines are great. Everything about this show is great with the exception that it only lasted 3 years. I absolutely recommend this show to anyone. Go buy it! Find it on Hulu or something!

Here is the first episode. Luckily I was able to find it online somewhere.

The Mix-tape of My Week

The past couple of weeks have contained some huge music releases... Jason Aldean, Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift, and P!nk, just to name a few... so what new songs have I been listening to?.. better yet, what type of music do I even listen to? Well, on this week's podcast, I include some of my new favorite music.

On the podcast I explained that it was a short post. However, 25 minutes into it, I realized I had more music I love than I realized... and that's just from the past 2 weeks. I hope you enjoy my "Mix-tape" this week. Till next week (With the next podcast post)... More blogging before then!
