Downton Abbey... A "Masterpiece" Indeed.

Once again, I have indulged myself in British television. This time, I’ve become obsessed with, none other than, Downton Abbey.  Already finished with its second season, it’s become a huge international sensation. I was browsing through Netflix a couple weeks ago and ‘Abbey’ popped up as a suggestion (since I’ve watched Sherlock, Primeval, etc.). A week later, I went through the entire series to date… and now I’m already highly anticipating the 3rd season, which comes out later this fall.

This show’s great for a few reasons. 1) The acting is phenomenal. 2) The storyline isn’t too crowded, but full enough for a great show. 3) Who doesn’t like to watch the lives of the richest of the rich, especially in early England? 4) Who doesn’t like to watch the lives of the help, especially when they are practically puppet-masters of their bosses? 5) Maggie Smith, Maggie Smith, Maggie Smith.

So, go check it out. It's definitely a new favorite of mine. In the near future, I'll talk about an "American" show that I've recently come to love. Till then!

Here is the first episode. Enjoy.

Also, the estate featured in "Downton Abbey" is actually a real estate in England called the Highclere Castle.
