Okay, so Nancy Botwin is a main character, and I said I'd try to talk about characters that weren't necessarily in the direct spotlight, but this chick surprises me in everything. Mary-Louise Parker really caught my attention in the show Weeds, though. She plays a somewhat clueless lady who seems to be stronger than any mob-ish drug dealer, emotionally that is. She's a soft, kind-hearted lady who somehow finds herself in dangerous situations, but those brown eyes of hers never fail to bail her out of trouble. Who can resist her charm?!After the timely death of her young husband, Nancy has to come up with a way to raise her two boys with the same privileges as before (wealth-wise). When she turns to the only thing that she can do without any experience and college degree, she finds herself putting everyone she loves in danger. Dealing 'Weed' becomes her and her family's trade. They soon learn to grow and distribute, as well, until everything blows up into shit... during each season finale. How can this normal, passive lady hold her calm and find a way out every time something happens? That's why I love her.
Check out Weeds on Showtime. Season 7 is going to start up pretty soon, so definitely check it out. Also, Netflix has all the current seasons... just a thought.
