"Off The Map" is SPOT-on in my book!

My winter break is coming to an end and hardly any shows have resumed from their breaks, but I saw a preview for a new show I found really interesting. 'Off The Map' presented itself to be a Grey's Anatomy / Private Practice meets Lost (without all the weirdness). So, with the preview fresh in my mind, I went straight to the DVR and set it to record the pilot. To my surprise, I really liked the show.

It's about three new doctors arriving in a village in South America. They are joining three other doctors in need of their help. These two sentences pretty much describe the whole show. Imaging Grey's Anatomy in a jungle with no equipment and fancy medicines and which is what you get with Off The Map.

Also, as a Good Wife fan, guest star Mamie Gummer played a well-knowledged young lawyer who acted more or less, dumb. That's where I learned of Gummer and decided to research her further. Being the daughter of Meryl Streep, she has since been a favorite actress of mine. Then I saw her in Off The Map. This show will no doubt be a huge success. I don't see it reaching "Grey's Anatomy: Season 3" status, but maybe equivalent to Grey's now.

So if you haven't had the chance to watch the new show, please go watch it here on the ABC website. You won't be disappointed.
